Ammonite, which means coiled horn, was an air breathing invertebrate. It looked like an ancestor of the squid except its body was protected by a coiled, chambered shell. Ammonites flourished throughout the Mesozoic Era - about 250 million years ago. Considered to be a protective stone that provides stability and structure.
It's no surprise that ammonites, with their spiral shape, are symbols of change and positive motion. The spiral draws in negative energy, filtering it through the chambers and releasing fresh, positive energy. Ammonites are primarily associated with the third eye chakra.
